Stages and Deliverables 

Virtual Kickoff Event - January 23, 2025

Whether you've already registered for the challenge or are interested in learning more about it, the Kickoff Event is where you'll hear about the challenge structure, learn what the judges are looking for, and get expert advice from leaders at TECHNATION, Bombardier and TCS.

Speakers include:

  • Angela Mondou - President and CEO, TECHNATION
  • Pallab Datta - Head of TCS Pace™, Canada / Responsable du TCS PaceMC, Canada, TCS
  • Brigitte Larivière - Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Bombardier

STEP 1: Registration/Ideation

January 13 - February 9, 2025

Create or join a team of 2-4 post-secondary students. For this stage, prepare a 5-7 page PowerPoint presentation outlining your project and its potential impact. All submissions must be in English or French, and should be uploaded to the platform as a PDF file by 11:59 PM (ET) on February 9, 2025. 

The judging stage will occur between February 10-11. Up to 25 teams will be chosen to advance to the next stage. The teams who are advancing will receive notification on the evening of February 11, 2025. 

 

STEP 2: Development

February 12 - March 2, 2025 

During this stage, teams will be paired with a mentor to assist them in further developing their ideas. The deliverable for this stage is a 3–5 minute video presentation demonstrating your solution, the technology behind it, as well as the market it is serving. All submissions must be in English or French, and should be uploaded to the platform by 11:59 PM (ET) on March 2, 2025. 

The judging stage will occur between March 3-4. Up to 5 teams will be chosen to advance to the finals. The finalist teams will receive notification on March 4, 2025. 

 

STEP 3: The Final Pitch

March 20, 2025 

Between March 4-20, the top 5 teams will have time to refine their solution/prototype and prepare a 10-minute presentation, including a brief prototype demonstration. The finalist teams will pitch their solutions to the jury at a live in-person event on March 20 at the Bombardier Laurent Beaudoin Completion Center in Dorval.
